The Northwestern Health Unit needs your input! They want parent feedback on healthy schools. There are a couple ways you can offer input and/or ideas:Complete a short online survey found here. It can also be filled out hard-copy in any of the NHWU offices. Talk Public Health: NWHU Online Discussion Panel – join an online discussion panel focused on the topic of parent involvement in schools. The panel will run March 21st to April 4th. Please register by March 19th - participants will receive a $30 honorarium.
The health unit will use this information to develop a resource that will help school councils and parent involvement committees to engage parents in creating healthy schools in the future.

New Help Line launched by Health Canada: The First Nations and Inuit Hope for Wellness Help Line. The toll-freenumber for the line is 1-855-242-3310. The purpose of the Help Line is to provide immediateculturally competent telephone-based crisis intervention counseling to First Nations and Inuit youngpeople and adults experiencing distress. Help Line calls will be answered by experienced crisisintervention counseling service will be available in English and French. Callers may also ask aboutthe availability of service in Cree, Ojibway and Inukitut. Work will continue regarding how best to furtherpromote the Help Line. Spread the Word.
